Law enforcement investigating laptop computer missing from Riverside County Regional Medical Center

Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) has notified 563 patients that some of their personal data may have been compromised after a laptop computer was reported missing from a hospital procedure room late last week.

A contest that challenges computer programmers to develop and design applications using public data will be hosted later this month by the Riverside County Information Technology Department and SmartRiverside. The event’s goal is to develop ways to make information more readily available to the public and to give programmers and software developers the opportunity to build new applications, or apps, in order to improve communication with residents.
